With 26 bones, 33 joints and more than a 100 muscles, tendons and ligaments, our feet are our foundation.
As we age, the size, width, and structure of the foot often change. Changes can be due to illness, disease, medication, weight gain, trauma or just normal wear and tear.

We look for callous, corns and fissures as well as the overall fit of your shoes. We work with you to establish your foot health goals because healthy feet keeps your foundation strong.

Skin is the largest organ of the body and when it becomes thickened from friction or pressure, callouses or corns form. A common cause of callouses to the bottom of the feet are due to thinning foot pads in seniors.
Fissures (cracked heels) can be caused by disease processes such as diabetes. Dry, thick skin can cause small or large cracks to occur which can open and be an entry way for bacteria.
Identification of the cause, combined with gentle paring of these areas can promote comfort. Regular maintenance and moisturizing treatments can help to keep feet soft and smooth while keeping you moving pain free.
Routine foot care provided by a foot care nurse offers many benefits.

I am a nurse of 20+ years who brings a wealth of knowledge and experience, through years of service in various health care settings. I have worked in home care, Burn ICU and I have specialized in caring for patients with complex abdomens and wounds (WCON) for more than 15 years. I am Podiatrist trained and educated and have my national certification (CFCN) in foot & nail care.
My career in healthcare has been one filled with remarkable experiences, which contribute to a deep sense of gratitude and commitment to serving others. As I open a new chapter as a business owner, my passion for caregiving remains unwavering, and I am eager to continue making a difference in the lives of those in my community.
I currently live beachside, with a wonderful husband of more than 35 years and am the mother of two amazing adult children, who live way too far away! In my down time, I indulge my love for reading, traveling and discovering treasures along the space coast.

You can expect the nurse to take a brief health history, and do a thorough examination of your feet. The nurse will ask you about any issues you are having and will inform you of any findings. Treatment includes: trimming and filing of nails, reduction of thick nails (if needed) callouses and corns reduced. You will receive a gentle moisturizing massage to promote circulation and lymphatic drainage to complete the service.
A home visit ranges from 75-90 minutes and a clinic visit is approximately 45 minutes.
Nail technicians are trained to relax and beautify the feet, most do not have the medical knowledge to understand the risk pedicures pose for some seniors. Medical conditions such as diabetes and poor circulation, can put senior feet at increased risk of harm or infection. We encourage you to do your own research.
Our services fees vary depending on the setting. We work hard to develop relationships with senior centers, communities and assisted living facilities to offer clinics to the community. Services provided at a clinic setting will be cheaper and home visits are more expensive due to the travel and your convenience.
Any nurse who claims to provide foot care, should be able to show you a certificate of completion from an advanced nursing foot care course and references regarding that training. Additionally, the nurse should have a current license to practice nursing from the Board of Nursing in the state.
A Podiatrist diagnosis and treats conditions of the foot and ankle. Some podiatrists will perform routine foot care services such as nail trimming, but many do not. Routine foot care is often not covered by insurance/medicare, please discuss with your local podiatrist.
We offer a safe, mobile option for your routine foot care needs. We do not diagnose problems or prescribe medications. We practice within our scope and you will be informed if there are conditions outside our scope of practice and it is then up to you to follow up for further care.
All supplies used are one-time use or are chemically sterilized. We carry enough equipment to provide each client with their own set of tools with each service. Infection control is a major focus for us to reduce any risk of infection. We EXCEED state and CDC guidelines for infection prevention.
Yes. Individuals with a history of diabetes should most definitely seek a qualified foot care provider for regular visits to identify potentially harmful issues early and reduce the risk of injury. Regular maintenance is essential to maintain healthy feet in diabetic people.
As nurses, we understand that there is a connection between the health of the feet and the body. Certain medications affect the condition of the nails casing them to become brittle, thickened and discolored as well as difficult to cut. Diseases such as diabetes, arthritis, peripheral vascular disease are considered "high-risk" and require extra care. Additionally, some medications decrease the body's ability to fight infection resulting in infections. A trained foot care nurse will be able to explain to you, why and how your health history and medications impact your feet.
No. Our self-pay policy allows us to keep costs down and we find that our services are often generally less expensive than most deductibles. Payment is due at each session. We accept cash, check Venmo and credit/debit cards.
